Cinnamon rolls are rolls that have conquered the world starting from Sweden. These are delicious leavened sweets, a recipe within everyone's reach but for which some precautions are necessary. Once out of the oven, they are perfect for breakfast or as a snack.


Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 340 g of Manitoba flour

  • 80 g of whole milk

  • 84 g of yolk

  • 84 g of eggs

  • 12 g of yeast

  • 30 g of sugar

  • 15 g of honey

  • 80 g of soft butter

  • 4 g of salt

  • 1 orange

For the stuffing:

  • 150 g of soft butter

  • 7 g of cinnamon powder

  • 120 g of brown sugar


Cinnamon rolls are really delicious cinnamon cakes, they are of Swedish origin and have depopulated in America, from where they have become famous all over the world.


Preparing them is not difficult, but you have to follow the steps of the recipe scrupulously and respect the times it requires. Once the dough is ready, in fact, it needs to rest in the refrigerator for 8 hours. Then, once the swivels have been prepared, they must be left to rise in the pan for another 2 hours, before being able to bake them.


These delicious sweets are born as snacks for the coffee break, therefore they are ideal as a snack, but they go just as well for breakfast, perhaps accompanied by a hot tea. If you are a lover of cinnamon and treats, also try the cinnamon muffin donuts and pull apart cinnamon muffins.


Preparation


Phase 1


To prepare the cinnamon rolls, start making the mixture by combining the flour, milk, egg yolks, eggs, yeast, sugar, honey, grated rind of an orange and knead with the help of a planetary mixer. Then also add the butter and salt until the dough is smooth. Form a loaf and let it rest for 15 minutes at room temperature. Then spread the dough on a plate, cover it with cling film and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.


Phase 2

The next day, take the dough and with the help of a rolling pin roll it out until it is 3-4 mm thick and form a rectangle. Proceed by preparing the soft butter with the cinnamon: in a bowl, first work the butter with a spoon, then add the cinnamon and mix well to mix everything.


Phase 3


Spat the cinnamon flavored butter over the entire rectangular surface of the dough and then sprinkle the brown sugar as well. Roll everything up and cut into slices 2/3 fingers thick, thus forming swivels.


Phase 4


Arrange the swivels side by side in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Then let it rise for 2h: you will have to form a single cake of swivels. Bake at 170 ° C for 16/20 minutes.


Phase 5


Remove from the oven, let it cool: just a sprinkle of icing sugar and the cinnamon rolls are ready to be served and enjoyed!
